Bold Bunny
Our mother, Janet, was very clever when it came to orchestrating the annual Easter Egg Hunt for my sister and me. She always liked things to be fair and square. To ensure equal success in the hunt she came up with a simple but brilliant rule: every egg we dyed had to be marked with our initials.
On Easter morning, we would scamper around the yard, baskets in hand, peer into the tall grass and under the budding shrubs. The catch? If you found an egg marked with your sister’s initials, you had to leave it exactly where it was. The hunt didn't end until every single initialed egg was nestled in our respective Easter baskets. This illustration, with its hidden eggs and watchful bunny, is a tribute to those childhood mornings—the thrill of the finding a dozen uniquely decorated, initialed masterpieces.
